In the midst of the tragic flood in Ghana in October of 2015, Mr. Afrifa, member of My Children My Future encountered a pressing situation that involved a twelve year old girl named Christiana, who attempted to jump across a ditch to reach the other side of the street however, she did not anticipate that she would fall inside and be dragged by the flow of rushing water as the rain began to set in. Mr. Afrifa happened to witness her plunge into the ditch and heroically ran to the side of the ditch to reach for her but was unsuccessful in his attempt. She continued to flow with the current of water down the path of the ditch. If it were not for his wife and other witnesses who grabbed Mr. Afrifa, he would have been in the same predicament as Christiana. While witnesses lamented over the possible death of the 12 year old, news was heard that she survived and was rescued from another heroic deed attempted by a young man that traced the ditch and was able to reach for her. Mr. Afrifa was able to track and interview Christiana and share this miraculous story with the world.

We Support the Texas Food Bank on August 16, 2014
We Believe in a Cause
We believe in a cause but a cause for good; a cause where the elements of hope are also capacitated by even the minuteness of your humanitarian endeavors. Saturday, August 16, 2014 was one of such days; when spirited individuals, empowered by the broad vision of MCMF donated over 200 lbs. of food items, as well as volunteered to support the North Texas Food Bank. In our mission statement we believe that “What one does for a child is never wasted”; that is the sole purpose for our cause. We believe that by caring and providing just a small amount can make a world of difference in someone’s life especially during the most fragile part of life; childhood. It’s amazing to watch how such a minute contribution can enhance someone’s life in a mighty way, so our aim is to continue to devote our efforts to improve the lives of those in need locally and globally. In God, we are faithful that our cause will catalyze a substantial difference in the precious lives of those in need.
In this time of the year, when the atmosphere is filled with the love of sharing, My Children My Future makes a humbled move to support the hungry and under-privileged by donating items (water, juice, soups, baked beans, canned fruits and etc.) worth about 417 lbs. to the North Texas Food Bank. We are overjoyed to be able to give especially during this time of the year, when so many children are out of school and may find themselves left out from the love that is being shared through giving. We greatly appreciate all who contributed or supported this charitable cause; we can envision the smiles on the faces of the little-ones whose gift s for the holidays are your charitable efforts. We thank you all for your support and encouragement as we seek to further this cause beyond our immediate reach and expand it across borders and cultures. May all your time, money and efforts be replenished.
Remember, “Nothing you do for a child is ever wasted”.
My Children My Future; sorting out clothes to be donated
In the absence of an office, members, Mrs. Ranaa'a Banini and Elizabeth Banini of My Children My Future are seen here in the living room of our apartment, sorting out clothes to be donated to children who may be lacking common needs such as clothing. We believe in the regular saying "charity begins at home" that is why we have come together to donate by example with clothing from our own closet to promote the cause that motivates us. Just reflect on this "nothing you do for a child is ever wasted".

Ever since I can remember, I've always pictured myself on the front lines helping others. One of my dreams is to travel the globe to assist with food drives and donations within the underprivileged areas in countries around the world. I met my husband who also had the same aspirations and dreams in philanthropy as I have. Please click here to read more.
I am a victim of single parenting, I was raised by a single mother since I was born and as the only child of my mom, I always remember the hustle and pain my mom went through to give me education, and basic needs. Growing up in the slums in Ghana, my country, I have witness countless number of children who suffer the same situation or worse, each time I walk on the streets of Accra and other cities in the country.
Naturally I love children and I see a lot of children suffering to make ends meet. Most of these children are very intelligent and also exhibit a lot of potentials...click to read more
As the saying goes, " Charity begins at home", in our cause towards facilitating help to needy children, we vested our time and energy by contributing our efforts to the Texas Food-bank which supply food to our local community, helping many families in need. We felt a sense of great reward knowing that our time was spent to edify others and provide them with more than they had before. I am so fortunate to have had the opportunity to help my local community and take part in something bigger than myself. I envision more opportunities to give to our local community and in the future our world-wide community in placing a smile on our brothers, sisters, and children faces that we've helped to make a difference in their lives. Not only will we be helping them but they will also be helping us in making our hearts even bigger than before. Brotherly love and kindness is our mission and cause in My Children My Future.
